LockChip™ general characteristics:

LockChip™ is designed to be used on roads that have been surface dressed using proprietary binders. LockChip™ can be used on new surface dressed roads, or on old ones that are starting to reach the end of their lifespan. Using LockChip™ on newly surface dressed roads will improve early and long term chip retention, and will provide a blackened surface similar to that of a new blacktop. Surface dressed sites that have been treated have had a good response from the general public as the road is blackened and loose chippings have been minimised.

Using LockChip™ on an old surface dressing that is reaching the end of its lifespan will delay the surface deteriorating any further buying more time before costly works have to take place. LockChip™ will immediately improve chip retention and seal the surface from water intrusion. Additionally the surface will be blackened, refreshing the look of the warn surface and will highlight new road markings better than a tired, dry surface.
