Bituchem specialise in the manufacturing and development of bituminous emulsions from surface dressing binders to preservation materials and sealants.
Bituchem manufacture and supply both polymer modified surface dressing binders and unmodified binders. Over recent years Bituchem are supplying more polymerised binders to council authorities and contractors, as its durability and versatility supersedes that of the traditional K1-70 binder.
FortSeal™ is a new system that was launched in 2010. It is designed to seal and blacken existing asphalt surfaces that are suffering from oxidation, where they look dry, tired and binder hungry. FortSeal™ has been developed to prolong a road surfaces life with little, if any, side effects on skid resistance. Depending on the time of year FortSeal™ can be applied hot or cold, and in some months outside the surface dressing season.
LockChip™ was also launched in 2010, and is designed to be used in conjunction with new surface dressings that use proprietary binder. LockChip™ is designed to lock in and hold down loose chippings by producing a fully bonded surface. This will prolong the life of a new dressing, however LockChip™ can be used on existing surfaces that are beginning to shed stone/fret/lose aggregate i.e. old surface dressing sites (tar & chip).
LockChip™ is also available in our 'Driveway Treatments' section, under the 'Products' tab where we can supply smaller packaged amounts for domestic applications.
Here you will also find SealaPave™ which has similar properties to FortSeal™ however, like LockChip™, is available in smaller quantities and is suitable for driveway and footpath use.
